Press Releases From an Internet Marketer’s point of view, Can Be Good if done properly.In a way press releases are for BIG-BRANDS, Who need lots of media attention.
Google defines it as
An announcement distributed to members of the press in order to supplement or replace an oral presentation.
For internet success, Press Releases will be helpful to you in-terms of website traffic, only if you get published in main stream media like Popular Newspapers, Television News, Radio Ads etc…. , Because than real people will see/hear your news & go online to your check your website, But if your news just gets posted only to some of the press release distribution websites on internet, It really doesn’t make any impact on your website traffic(Atleast Not the Direct Impact). Reason being these sites are just made with an intention of gathering people’s promotional press releases, They do not ad any value to the news industry, Imagine your self holding a news paper which has nothing but only classifieds in it. Would you buy that news paper if you were looking for proper news? No, Exactly no one actually visits this press release websites, but due to the fact that they allow free submissions, people willing to promote their websites keep on visiting them & submitting their press releases(The number of people who do this is quite huge).
